Shahrisabz — the birthplace of Amir Timur (Tamerlane) and a UNESCO World Heritage city — sits about 90 km south of Samarkand, across the scenic Takhtakaracha mountain pass. This is a private car and driver for the round trip, not a guided tour: you explore Ak-Saray Palace, the Dorut Saodat and Dorut Tilovat complexes, and Kok-Gumbaz Mosque at your own pace, with your driver waiting to bring you back to Samarkand.
