Almost everything worth seeing sits inside Itchan Kala, Khiva's walled inner city, so the car is mainly there for getting to and from your hotel or the city's edges — once inside the walls, Itchan Kala, the Kalta Minor, Kunya-Ark fortress, and the Juma Mosque are all a short walk apart. Since there's no guide, the day is entirely yours to plan — the driver takes you between whichever stops you choose and waits while you explore each one.
